RECIPES FOR SNACKS

Snack Attack!

How many families reach for the biscuits, crisps and sweets to try to feed that gnawing hunger between lunch and dinner? The key to healthy snacking is two-fold: having plenty of available fruit and vegetables at home and a little preparation. Let’s face it, a ready-made bowl of cut up vegetables or fruit is a lot more attractive to hungry, tired children than the prospect of having to peel a carrot!

My snack recipes for Dips, Fillings & Lunchbox Ideas, Brilliant Breads and Fruity Fixes will also help to complement the fruit and vegetables that you have at home and fill empty tummies after school with just enough energy to last until dinner. Most of the recipes can be made in advance so they can be eaten throughout the week or used as part of a healthy packed lunch.
