As parents, we spend many hours standing on the side lines, in all types of weather, supporting our children as they play sport. However, we can help them even more by ensuring that they eat right and get the right nutrition.

The nutritional needs of children playing sport are not very different from the needs of growing children and they follow the basic principles of healthy eating. However, the three key principles  which must also be followed are:

  • Keeping hydrated
  • Right food at the right time
  • Watch the fibre
